The move to PSG began with a loan from Sporting in August 2021. BBC reported that the club activated a buy option for a reported £34 million and, at that time, tied Mendes to a deal until June 2026.
Goal and FootballTransfers both cited €40 million for the permanent transfer. beIN Sports covered the completed deal with the fee reported at €38 million or €40 million. The differences reflect normal reporting variations around add-ons, fees, and currency conversion.
Transfermarkt lists Mendes as a PSG player since 1 July 2022 and records his contract expiry as 30 June 2029. That reflects the extension he signed in February 2025.
Statistics from his loan spell differ by provider. BBC counted 37 appearances and 2 assists in all competitions. FotMob also counted 37 appearances but recorded 1 assist and 19 chances created. One outlet, AS1, later claimed he had reached 108 matches, 4 goals, and 15 assists for PSG, but that figure is less authoritative than the established providers and should be treated cautiously.
